Contrast and Compare

The wikispaces were one year old on March 16th. There are now 2813 listed public “wikispace” wikis, worldwide. The first edit of the home page of http://amadlandawonye.wikispaces.com/ was made on November 4th, 2005, five months ago, but the site really only got going a month later. In the mean time, the hit-counting feature was not working. Now it has suddenly appeared – and it shows that our site has had just under 100,000 views in total (97750 to be exact), putting us in sixth place out of the entire 2813. Of the five above us, four have to do with games and the top one has to do with some kind of cell phone. This means that the Communist University has the top public educational wikispace site in the entire world. And of course it is in fact accessed from all parts of the world. Thanks to all for your support, and special thanks to Nhlanhla Mabaso and Muff Andersson for crucial help at the start. Nhlanhla introduced us to the wikispaces and gave us the now-famous name “amadlandawonye”. Viva! Wikispaces are being lobbied for an improvement in the interactiveness of the sites. At present this consists of a “discussion” button on each page. It can’t be much good, because nobody uses it. For “Critical Pedagogy” to work, dialogue is required, and it would be good to have more of it on-line, and internationally, as well as in our Communist University and YCL weekly sessions in Johannesburg. The other opportunity for dialogue is “comments” on the Communist University blog at http://domza.net/. Please use it! Contrast and compare the two linked interviews below. The first, from the “Sindy”, is with Frank Lingua of Dissembling Associates. The other one is a jargon-filled love-in between Bobby Godsell, chief executive of AngloGold Ashanti, and Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Deputy President of South Africa. The last linked item is a review of a book from the US peace movement. It highlights their situation and the iron necessity for the pro-peace movement also to be an anti-Imperialist movement. Don’t forget tomorrow’s seminar on ASGISA and JIPSA with Gwede Mantashe and Friday’s crucial Communist University session on “Women - Caste, Class or Oppressed Sex” with Luli Callinicos.
